About Me
Welcome! My name is Robert Fieldhouse, and I love Christ Jesus! I am married and have three wonderful daughters and a terrific son. For safety's sake, I won't list their ages. However, they range from their late 50s to their early 30s. Oh! We live in the oldest permanent Spanish settlement in what is now the United States. Contrary to what you might have been taught or thought, the United States began here in Saint Augustine, Florida. As a matter of documented fact, the original landing and settlement occurred about four blocks from our house! I have earned three college degrees, including a Doctor of Organizational Management and Leadership specializing in Information Systems and Technology. I have a Diploma of Divinity and am pursuing a Bachelor of Ministry. All that is just another way to say I realized there is no better way to understand organizational management and leadership than to become a faithful disciple of the true Master of organizational management and leadership, Christ Jesus.
I grew up in an upper-middle-class home and am the youngest of 3 children. I married my high school sweetheart when I was 16 years old. Unfortunately, I made several bad decisions, costing me my marriage. Fortunately, she and I have had a wonderful friendship for decades!
I love Christ Jesus, coffee lattes, reading, music, gardening, and the beach. My wife is my best friend and somehow accepts me for who I am.
My life verse is Matthew 22:37-40: 37 "...You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
I am blessed and humbled that you allow me to speak into your life here on this website. I am praying for you — and remember, God loves you! Your burden can never be too significant to place you outside God's Grace.
A Closer Look
I am an ordained non-denominational itinerant city missionary Pastor and founder of Disciples Path Ministry. Though I am a physically and psychologically disabled senior citizen (okay-elderly, so I am told), our God has Blessed me with my passion for ministry.
I was born in Miami, Florida, in the United States of America. As a child, my family life was pretty average for an upper-middle-class family of 5. I am the youngest of 3 siblings. My biological father had the money, time, connections, and desire to enjoy and share the material benefits of the secular realm. My mother experienced it all as well, plus strong convictions of our heavenly Father, which she kept primarily silent from my father. We were all very active in our church, as was most of our neighborhood. Well… maybe not so much my father. From him, I learned skepticism and the mixed blessing of questioning and having reservations before committing. From my mother, I learned faith and the love of God. As a child, I frequently played piano in my mother's Sunday school classes and occasionally played our church organ. My brother, sister, and I were active in our church youth groups. Try not to be too quick to draw conclusions. All that was just how it was "back in the day."
Upon entering the United States Marine Corps, I was outfitted with what I needed, and to my surprise, I was given a small pocket Bible! I'm not sure recruits are still provided with that. I began my journey into college programs. I started Sunday worship service (again). The point was made to me that there are no atheists in a foxhole! Unfortunately, I began to backslide again. During my second enlistment, I made some poor decisions, got hurt, and was ultimately honorably discharged from the Marine Corps because of the injury. I continued to make poor choices and half-heartedly tried to find my way back to Christ Jesus.
For decades, I was lost. Instead of talking to myself, I just kept listening to myself. Being disabled, I came to believe the lies my mind kept telling me. However, one day, I decided to finish college. Praise God for my disability! God made it possible to finish a Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate in uninterrupted succession! Next, He led me to the Christian Leaders Institute. I have earned several certificates of completion, was ordained, and was asked to mentor students in person and worldwide online while they were on their way to becoming ordained ministers. I continue on my path to a Bachelor of Ministry Degree. After decades of leading free Bible studies, free Scripture Reflection studies, free mentorships, free public speaking, volunteer hospital ministry, volunteer first responder chaplain, and free workshops, I decided to focus on a disability ministry.
By conscious choice, DPM (Disciples Path Ministry) has continuously been funded by me. My ministry takes me to different cities and, occasionally, other states, so I am grateful for those who support my ministry through deeply appreciated donations on the website.
I believe God has brought me to this point in my life and ministry to focus on other clergy members and believers suffering from disabilities. This website is under construction and is updated frequently, so please bear with me. This ministry includes a "private" Facebook presence to supply hope, support from others in the trenches, fellowship, prayers, and targeted resources.
